Latin Name: Anethum graveolens  |  Plant Part: Seed  |  Origin: Hungary  |  Extraction: Steam Distillation

Dill Seed Essential Oil is one of aromatherapy's quieter gems — a softly herbal, gently sweet oil that brings a clean, savoury freshness to blends without ever overpowering them. Steam distilled from the seeds of Anethum graveolens grown in Hungary, this oil carries the unmistakable character of the dill plant: green, warm, and subtly spiced, with a lightness that makes it a natural harmoniser in both diffuser and topical blends.

In aromatherapy, dill seed is valued for its calming, digestive-supportive, and gently uplifting properties. It blends beautifully with citrus oils like Lemon and Bergamot FCF, and adds an interesting herbal dimension alongside Rosemary and Coriander Seed.

  • Aroma: Fresh, herbal, mildly sweet with a clean savoury edge.
  • Blends with: Lemon, Bergamot FCF, Rosemary, Coriander Seed, Petitgrain, Cedarwood Virginian.
  • Diffusion: 3–4 drops in a 100–200 ml diffuser.
  • Topical: 1–2% dilution in carrier oil — always dilute before skin application.
  • Safety: Avoid during pregnancy. Not recommended for children under 6.
