Bergamot Essential Oil is extracted by cold expression from the ripe and unripe fruits of the bergamot orange tree. It has a fresh, citrus aroma with a soft sweetness and is widely appreciated for creating a bright, uplifting, and relaxed atmosphere. A favourite in aromatherapy, it is commonly used in vaporisers, massage blends, and bath preparations, as well as in perfumery and food flavouring, most famously in Earl Grey tea. The name “bergamot” is thought to come from the Italian city of Bergamo, where the oil was first traded, and the fruit has been cultivated in Mediterranean regions such as Italy and Greece since the 16th century.
