Latin Name: Coriandrum sativum | Plant Part: Seeds | Origin: Russia | Extraction: Steam Distillation
Coriander seed essential oil is one of aromatherapy's best-kept secrets — bright, gently spicy, and quietly grounding all at once. Steam-distilled from the dried seeds of Coriandrum sativum, it sits at a beautiful crossroads of soft citrus, warm spice, and woody depth. Rich in linalool, the same calming constituent found in lavender, it soothes nervous tension and supports focus without sedating — making it as useful in a morning diffuser blend as it is in an evening wind-down.
Far removed from the sharp, polarising aroma of fresh coriander leaf, the seed oil is warm, sweet, and approachable — a natural bridge note that connects citrus tops to woody bases with elegance and ease.
How to Use
- Diffusion: Add 3–6 drops to your diffuser alone or blended with bergamot, frankincense, or orange.
- Topical: Dilute to 1–2% in a carrier oil (1–2 drops per 10ml) for body oils, massage blends, or facial serums.
- Bath: Add 4–6 drops to a tablespoon of carrier oil or full-fat milk before dispersing in warm water.
