Professional Use
Carrot Seed is a specialist skin-care oil for the professional formulator. Its high carotol content makes it genuinely effective in mature skin and anti-ageing formulations, and its warm, earthy character adds depth and complexity to professional blends.
- Facial oil formulations: At 0.5–1% in a facial oil or serum, Carrot Seed adds genuine antioxidant and cell-regenerating activity. Blend with Geranium, Lavender, and Rose Absolute in rosehip or jojoba carrier for a professional anti-ageing facial oil. Suitable for mature, sun-damaged, or environmentally stressed skin types.
- Body and massage blends: Up to 2% in body oils and massage blends. Works well in grounding, skin-nourishing massage formulations alongside Frankincense and Cedarwood Virginian. Particularly effective in treatments focused on skin renewal and relaxation.
- Diffusion in treatment rooms: 1–2 drops blended with Cedarwood Virginian and Frankincense creates a warm, earthy, grounding atmosphere. Use sparingly — the distinctive aroma can dominate if overused.
- Blending ratios: As a mid-to-base note, Carrot Seed typically works at 5–10% of a blend by drop count. It integrates best with other earthy, woody, or floral oils and should be introduced gradually when developing new formulations.
- Skincare ranges: A valuable addition to professional product ranges targeting mature, tired, or sun-damaged skin. Its carotol content and antioxidant profile support marketing claims around skin renewal and radiance.
Safety note: Avoid during pregnancy — emmenagogue and uterine stimulant. Not recommended for children under 6. Patch test before use on sensitive skin. Not for internal use.
