Latin Name: Aniba rosaeodora | Plant Part: Heartwood | Origin: Brazil | Extraction: Steam Distillation
Rosewood essential oil is one of aromatherapy's most refined and quietly luxurious oils. Steam-distilled from the heartwood of Aniba rosaeodora, a tree native to the Amazon rainforest, it carries a soft, silky, rosy-woody aroma that is both uplifting and deeply calming. With a high linalool content (typically 80–90%), rosewood has a natural affinity with the skin and the nervous system — making it as valuable in your skincare routine as it is in your diffuser or blending palette.
Aroma Profile
Soft, silky, and rosy-woody — with a gentle floral sweetness and a clean, slightly spicy woody undertone. Smooth, rounded, and quietly sophisticated; one of the most elegant oils in the aromatherapist's kit.
A Note on Sustainability
Aniba rosaeodora is listed on CITES Appendix II due to historical over-harvesting. Our rosewood is sourced from sustainably managed suppliers who support replanting programmes. Please use it thoughtfully.
