Latin Name: Melaleuca quinquenervia | Plant Part: Leaves & Twigs | Origin: Indonesia | Extraction: Steam Distillation

Niaouli essential oil is the fresh, clarifying oil that deserves far more attention than it gets. Steam-distilled from the leaves and twigs of Melaleuca quinquenervia, it shares the camphoraceous clarity of eucalyptus and the purifying character of tea tree — but with a softer, sweeter, greener quality that makes it considerably more versatile for everyday use. Rich in 1,8-cineole and the rare sesquiterpene viridiflorol, it supports clear breathing, sharp focus, and healthy skin in equal measure.

If eucalyptus feels too sharp for your workspace or bedroom, niaouli is the answer. It brings the same respiratory and clarifying benefits with a gentler, more rounded aroma that blends beautifully across citrus, wood, and floral families.

How to Use

  • Diffusion: Add 3–6 drops to your diffuser alone or blended. Excellent for focus sessions, respiratory support, or freshening a room.
  • Topical: Dilute to 1–2% in a carrier oil (1–2 drops per 10ml). Particularly useful for oily or blemish-prone skin.
  • Steam inhalation: Add 2–3 drops to a bowl of just-boiled water, lean over with a towel, and inhale gently for 5–10 minutes with eyes closed.

Blending Suggestions

  • Daytime Focus: Niaouli + Lemon + Rosemary
  • Evening Calm: Niaouli + Lavender + Frankincense
  • Respiratory Blend: Niaouli + Eucalyptus + Tea Tree
